Who are the amptons?
Well its me and Andy trying to finally do what we both have always wanted to do for years....record our own album and get it out to the public, why its taken so long is anyone’s guess cos at the end of the day we just sat down and did it...its easy ya know!... lol
What do you do?
Well I generally provide the stupidity if Andy aint up for it and then I try and write songs play bass and guitar for a bit and provide the kick ass drums! lol.....but i'm best at the stupidity!...oooh and drinking...i'm shit hot at drinking!
How did the 'amptons come about?
Well the band came about kinda by accident...Andy and I both have little recording studios and one day we realised that we were both writing some catchy tunes.....we both ummed and ahhed and then thought hang on, the songs are here the bands here lets just stop drinking for 10 mins and do it....so we did! Result!
What's the album about?
I think I speak for both of us when I say this
I was having a particularly life changing time and I think that spurred me on to write so much, as for Andy he's writing catchy tunes in his sleep!....or in the boardroom! lol
Who are your musical heroes?
I have so many heroes it’s hard to narrow it down....tam, noel Gallagher, Keith moon. I reckon that’s enough
Are you planning on doing any gigs?
YES ! it’s the best band I have ever been in that’s not a real band yet! anyone reckon they can cut guitar or drums? Get in touch!!

Well we are a couple of dicks so the amptons fits perfect! nuff said
What to you do when you're not being an ampton?
When i'm not an ampton I play drums for the daves....and work by day as a boring electrician!....rock n roll!!....not!
Will there be a second album?
Definitely...as soon as the money's there we are back in the studio....we got so many tunes kicking about and its what we do best....I dare say we are better songwriters than we are an electrician or space planner! Anyone can do that....but not just anyone can write great songs!!

What do you do in the 'amptons?
Lead vocals, some bass and some guitar.
How did the band come about?
Me and Lee play in The Daves and had a mad 6 month spell where we wrote a ton of songs in a short space of time. The Daves stuff is quite a bit more punk than most of these songs so we decided to go into the studio and record an album.
What's the album about?
It's basically life through the eyes of the 'amptons. Fed up of living in a country that's going down the pan and the frustrations of life. Crap holidays, addictions and obsessions
Who are your musical heroes?
I don't really have any specific heroes. A lot of different bands ahve had an influence on me, right from Adam and the ants, to the pistols, guns 'n' roses and these animal men. I like a lot of different stuff but am very intollerent of anything i don't like.
Will you be doing any gigs?
Yes, we should be up and ready for the summer.
Why the name `the 'amptons?
It's a london thing....we're a right pair of 'amptons.....
